The MHMA board meeting was held on02-Aug-26. The following meeting minutes were recorded:

Agenda & Minutes 

• 1. MHMA GB meeting – decide on new dates
• Aug 22^nd combined with Family Night 
• Board agrees to make an exception to the 4 week bylaw requirement and send the announcement immediately. 
• Start sharing with members first and then extend to MHMA Forum. 
• 2. ⁠MHMA FT Girls Hifz Program Update  
• FT Hifz will be taught by sr Khadijah. So far 3 girls enrolled 
• Co-Op is still undecided as there are not many kids signed up 
• We are still recruiting a teacher for co-op program for Hifz girls
• Comment: Co-Op as a overall program is under the Education committee and they need to come up with a separate proposal for co-op if and when MHMA will take this up 
• 3. ⁠Subdivision update
• City hearing on Jul 22^nd – City website has the MHMA subdivision as approved. Umar S will reach out for confirmation 
• 4. ⁠Masjid Construction update
• Architect (Eva) is finalizing the feedback from board meeting, she will produce the final version of the floor plan. The site plan needs to be updated.. The most optimal physical location of the masjid building itself. Elevation is also an open question(undecided) 
• The new community center city is building is very different than the city hall building elevation. We may have some flexibility to update our elevation
• Met with another contractor for civil and rest of MEP drawing. Just a 2^nd opinion and costing for this work – Sohail. Lives in MH. Sohail has not done large scale projects as masjids. 
• Full package submitted to City — 3 months from today 
• 5. ⁠MHMA Committee reporting schedule 
• We will be kicking off meetings with Committee Leads (Asad S)
• Suggestion: Committees present in MHMA Family nights
• 7. ⁠Unity Center Maintenance and repair
• UC foundation needs to be permanently fixed. 
• Partition inside UC – permanent tracks with option of rolling partitions
• Extension of musallah 
• Kitchen revamp 
• Cameras & security 
• Securing Main entrance door
• 8. ⁠MHMA Website
• WIP on new website version. The Web team has been working on the new changes. 
• 9. ⁠MHMA Governance Policies
• 10. ⁠Siraj Center, future direction
• How does Siraj center fit in overall MHMA structure. Possible structure 
• Siraj Center: Owns all Assets 
• MHMA: Acts as the front-end organization for community 
• BOT will come back and provide a proposal – Zafar K. Next Full Board meeting
• 11. ⁠Volunteer management
• There is likely an overloading a set of volunteers for everything. Umar S shared a Jumma playbook with the ability to have the tasks assigned to specific folks 
• Suggestion: use outside help for Jumma tear down and clean up Action: @umar Sear talking to cleaning team to arrange for external paid help to tear down and clean up after Jumma including rolling up and storing carpets 
• 12. Youth halaqa for both boys and girls – Hidaya Committee Plan
• Hidaya committee to come up with weekly plan and share with the board. MCC example was shared. Paid Halaqah program, MC charges $299 per kid per year
• 13. ⁠Summer picnic (potentially August 8th)
• Sept 5^th 
• Br Oussama take the lead on overall picnic; Asad S to arrange/organize all food 
• 14. Family nights 
• Already happening 3^rd sat of every month. No change 
• 15. Robotics/Lego competition @Waqas to arrange 

Action:

• Grants for non-profits – there is someone who helps non-profits obtain grants @Saqib Malik
